Blue-Orange Panel
Acrylic paint on MDF

In its former life, this 4'x8' board served as the liner bed of a large CNC router table during renovation of the Stanford Design Loft.  Marked with all the paths traveled by the router bit during construction, the board acquired an intricate and visually stimulating array of contours that has been reinterpreted in color.  The piece adds new meaning to an object that had fulfilled its singular purpose in our world, and illustrates how we so often focus solely on the finished product, ignoring the value in the byproducts and artifacts of the process.

It is still a work in progress, as I've now completed approximately 1/3 of the panel. As I complete the piece, I will update this page with photos and captions.
